Hello Subscribers!
..this is very formal, I guess I will just call you 'Hey guys' from now on.
Hey guys! How are you?
I bet you are surprised to find an eMail from me in your inbox today. Likely you have subscribed weeks, no, MONTHS ago. Likely last year, when I opened this place.
Very sorry it took me so long to actually get started, but life has happened and is still happening and so I completely forgot about this place for a bit. Anyways, thank you for your interest in me and my art, and I hope you have not come to regret your decision by now.
I would truly love to build a little community around here, save from the crumbling world of social media and their waning reach.
This newsletter is going to be a place where I will send you guys new art and updates whenever I have them, but no more than once, twice a month at the most.
So be not afraid, I will not be spammy.
But enough words, more PICTURES! LET’S GO! 🧡
First off, a little treat for all those into environment art.
At the end of last year, I had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Streets of’ Zine project. A collection of free online zines, collecting works of environment focused artists.
They have a lot of beautiful art collections on their website. And as I mentioned, it is free to look at and browse. So check them out: StreetsOfZine.com
Me, I was part of the ‘Streets VS: Dystopia’ zine. Focusing on dystopian, broken and apocalyptic places - So RIGHT up my alley you could say, and I had a lot of fun working on it.
—and while we’re on the topic of zines and art books, have a sneak peak for another fun project I am currently working on. It is still mostly in progress and under wraps, but I gave a little sneak peak to my patrons, so I think it is only fair to give an even littler sneak peak here as well.
I really hope this project goes somewhere, and that I can show you all the full thing soon!
If you are interested in seeing more of how I make these artworks, allow me a short shout-out to my Patreon. There I show WIPs and sketches, as well as sneaks of future projects coming up.
Since most of Social Media has gone a little quiet lately, I have had time to pick up on my comic project again.
One of the things I still need to get to is fully design a lot of the side and background characters. They only exist as an idea in the story for now, so visual development is urgently needed.
While brainstorming and moodboarding, and looking up a lot of my saved art, I came across these guys. Old characters of mine I came up with when I was like 16.
And I thought HEY, they kind of fit the vibe of the story, so why not give them a new spin!
The designs are not 100% final yet, but it is a start! 🐰🔪
Also happening between all these various projects (and work,..) is me picking up on my catacomb saints again.
As these were one of my most popular pieces a little over a year ago, I would like to expand on the concept; Maybe even do prints in the future!
And, for those of you who have read this far and wonder ‘Where is Tony, does Kim not love him anymore?!’ - Be assured, I still love him VERY much. 🧡
Regarding fandom things, I have simply returned to my internet origins on Tumblr, as it offers a chill place to just ramble about my favorite characters in peace.
So if you are into my Tasky & Ant shenanigans, it might be worth giving me a follow over on Tumblr.
Or, you know, just stay tuned to this here newsletter, as I will do my best to always give a small dose of them each time.
SO, this has been a little round-up of what I have been up to lately. And, I finally got my toes wet and started this newsletter. Starts are hard, so I am happy I got to it.
I hope you enjoyed this little update by your favorite artist (me). 🧡
Thank you so much for following along and for your interest in my works.
See you soon!
Kim
